JBIG2 compression is a two-layer image compression mode (black and white images) suitable for both lossless and lossy formats.
This type of compression can create data flows from 3 to 5 times smaller than the Fax Group 4 format and from 2 to 4 times smaller than the JBIG (also called JBIG1). This format allows you to have smaller PDF files where you use black and white logos or text captured in image format.
